There's no official explanation on their official weibo account or even the author's weibo account as to why they started off with three episodes, some studios releases two episodes during the first week but not n the same day.

Since it is a streaming platform there is no airing timeslot restriction, my guess, and bear in mind I might be wrong is to let the audience have a feel for what the donghua is like. Very often people need more than one episode to decide if they like it or not
Plus it could be due to the covid lockdown in China that is affecting a few studios, like the one producing Swallowed Star and Soul Land. Even though the author is the same for Soul land, it is being produced by another studio that isnt currently in lockdown
Also it is a new series that is based on Tang Jia San Shao's work, the others being Soul Land and of course the Magic Chef, so it is probably also a promotional decision.
